  Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner (GP) to join our busy healthcare team within a secure environment. The role involves delivering high-quality care services to a diverse patient population.   Key Responsibilities:
  • Be actively involved in the leadership, management and decision making within a fast paced environment
  • Provide support including consultations, clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals.
  • Liaise closely with the Divisional and Service Managers
  • Foster relationships between staff, the Operator and local community
  • Contribute to the management of substance misuse and support detox pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with a number of healthcare professionals
  • Participate in clinical audits, risk assessments, and safeguarding processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive clinical records using the prison’s electronic health record system.
  • Take part in clinical governance activities and support continuous quality improvement.
  • Work flexibly to achieve high quality care
  • Ensure that optimal use is made of all resources allocated to the post
Requirements: Essential:
  • Fully qualified GP with current GMC registration and licence to practise.
  • Experience in primary care, with sound clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and healthcare delivery in secure environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Recognised ability to work within, and provide leadership within a fast-paced team

This will be delivered directly or through a range of specialist partners who are experts in their field.  We deliver our services based on our ethos of CARE:   Compassionate care that is trauma informed and supportive Assurance that care is evidence-based & demonstrates high quality outcomes for our patients Respectful of people’s cultural and religious beliefs Equitable care that is in line with the community services   Campsfield House IRC Campsfield House IRC is a secure facility currently designed to accommodate up to 160 male residents in both single and dual occupancy rooms. The centre houses a combination of time-served foreign national offenders and immigration offenders while the Home Office arranges their removal from the UK.   Residents are not permitted to leave the centre or access the local area. Consequently, recreational, educational, healthcare, living, and faith-related facilities are provided entirely onsite.   The healthcare department provides a range of services including primary care, mental health, substance misuse, pharmacy, dental, optometry, physiotherapy, podiatry, and audiology delivered either by us or our specialist partners.   Join us at the beginning…Where possible, this role will be starting before the centre opens. During this period, you will be undertaking your company and centre induction, supporting setting up the department, helping where required, and generally supporting the service to go live as prepared as we can be.   Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner (GP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team within a secure environment. The role involves delivering high-quality primary care services to a diverse patient population. As a GP in a secure setting, you’ll play a vital role in improving health outcomes for individuals who may have complex health and social care needs. Your work will help reduce health inequalities and ensure continuity of care in a challenging but rewarding environment.       Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide full GP services including consultations, clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals.

The role
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with DrPA you will be the face of our patient's journey with Health
and Justice. Your days will be varied and will include working with the Healthcare team to provide high
quality and evidence-based nursing for patients. This will involve
- Ability to demonstrate adherence to evidence-based practice
- Experience of working autonomously in a healthcare role
- Knowledge of local and national healthcare agendas/strategy and policies and how they relate to
the specific service.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated Remote General Practitioner (GP) to support prison healthcare services by delivering high-quality medical assessments for individuals. As a New Reception GP, you will play a critical role in conducting initial health screenings and clinical triage remotely, ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive timely and appropriate care upon entry into the prison system.

This role is entirely remote but requires familiarity with the specific needs of prison populations and NHS pathways within the secure estate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive remote health assessments for newly received prisoners.
  • Identify immediate clinical concerns (e.g., withdrawal risks, mental health needs, ongoing treatments).
  • Triage and prioritize follow-up care or urgent referrals to on-site clinicians or external services.
  • Work closely with on-site healthcare teams, prison staff, and specialist services.
  • Ensure accurate, secure documentation in line with NHS and HMPPS standards.
  • Provide clinical input into care planning for new arrivals, including safeguarding and continuity of care.
  • Support prison health staff with clinical advice and escalation where needed.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and license to practice in the UK.

  • Drug and substance Misuse certification (Part 1 and Part 2)
